Subscriptions are respectfully invited from persons of taste and surplus. The Hall shall seat two thousand, cost rather more than stated, and open a full year later than promised.
Nothing is offered in return — no seat, no share, no plaque. Subscribers are thanked in the manner of the age: warmly, and in print.
